About the 1998 Leisure First manual
The 1998 Eriba brochure marked forty years since the first Eriba Touring caravan and introduced the new generation of the Touring range alongside the Eribelle. Eriba’s own copy called it “the ultimate touring experience”: the aerodynamic concept, low weight ratio, integral steel superstructure and incomparable driving comfort had by then defined the Touring range for four decades, combined with ingeniously arranged interiors, luxurious furniture and interior sprung seating.
The original Eriba Touring model first appeared in 1956, and by 1998 more than 100,000 Eriba caravans had been built, using the aero construction process with its self-supporting, anti-corrosion-treated steel superstructure and GRP main and elevating roof. This UK-specification brochure, published by Eriba Ltd of Lechlade, Gloucestershire (a Hymer Group company), is the original factory reference for the specification, fittings and layouts offered that season.
